About the business

The Wandle is an intensive sheep and beef farm situated 12 km north of Middlemarch, just over an hour from Dunedin. We operate modern equipment with good infrastructure that has been maintained to a reasonable level.

We are going through an expansion phase in both production and staff numbers. This is an exciting new role that will see the successful candidate taking ownership of the property’s infrastructure. We are looking for someone who can turn their hand to anything; skills in any of these areas would be ideal but it is not essential to be a master of them all as training will be provided:

  • Building
  • Engineering
  • Fencing
  • Machinery operation
  • Irrigation

The role will incorporate repairs and maintenance on farm buildings, yards, fences and water systems, workshop jobs, plus managing a small number of irrigators and some tractor driving including but not limited to topping, spreading fertiliser, feeding stock. This role will largely be autonomous but at times will require working within our team of 6.
