A BIT ABOUT MANUREWA FARMS LTD…

Manurewa Farm, based 38km from Whanganui, is a family owned 466ha property. The farm is a balance of breeding and finishing, sheep and cattle running 2250MA Romney ewes and 225 cattle. The property offers a mixed contour and variety in the everyday farm work.

Our client is very passionate about the farming operation and takes a lot of pride in the business.

THE OPPORTUNITY…

The Farm Manager will be responsible for the planning, management and day-to-day running of the farm. The owner is looking for a hands-on Farm Manager with a modern thought process who is open to new ideas and is keen to grow with this continually evolving property.

Key responsibilities for this position include; setting the farm and stock policies in conjunction with the owner, stock work, general maintenance and organising farm contractors e.g. shearers.

The farm has good support networks, with a Farm Advisor and Agronomist available for consultation. There is a cropping and grass renewal plan in place.

A BIT ABOUT YOU…

Along with relevant experience, a passion for the sheep and beef industry, and an interest in the continual development of the farming operation, the successful applicant will have:

  • Excellent level of stockmanship with 3 – 4 well controlled dogs.
  • A good understanding of animal health
  • Pasture management & Feed Budgeting (rotational grazing) experience
  • General skills, basic R&M, fencing, tractor skills
  • Computer literacy
