Full time Farm Services Other

Job Description

Be the host with the most, with a rural twist. You will be hosting guests as they jump off the TSS Earnslaw to experience our renowned Walter Peak Farm Tour. When you're not entertaining the crowds, you will be helping the rural team to maintain the immaculate presentation of 150 hectares of sprawling farmland that sits on the shore of Lake Whakatipu. Your knowledge and love of all creatures will ensure that the animals are in tip-top health.

The atypical blend of agriculture and tourism will be your dream job, as you not only love farming, but you are a real people person, one who can never turn down a good chin wag.

This is a full tine permanent role, and you will be based in our subsidised accommodation at Walter Peak.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A keen interest in agriculture & farming
  • A love of animals and sharing their knowledge with others
  • Great communication skills
  • Team player traits - someone who is keen to get stuck into rural life and help out wherever needed

If you haven't had any experience with dog handling and sheep shearing - don't worry, we provide full training!

What do you get out of this?

  • Full time work year round
  • Medical insurance included in your remuneration package
  • Access our group experiences either for free or at a wickedly discounted rate – don’t forget Cardrona, Treble Cone and the International Antarctic Experience are part of the RealNZ group!

Who are we?

We are real people in real places delivering real experiences.

Enabled by tourism, our vision is to become a leading conservation business. We pledge to the future of sustainable tourism while honouring our past. Our guest centric attitude is fuelled by our promise to deliver Aotearoa’s most unforgettable experiences.

Here at RealNZ we encourage people to be themselves and respect each other. We are committed to empowering people, so they can have a voice, be heard and be present.

Our people and our experiences stretch from moana to maunga; we are a diverse bunch of people, and our passion to share our mind-blowing environments with guests is what drives us to go to work every day. Join us on our mission to conserve nature, history and culture.
