Job Description


This iconic 1,502ha sheep and beef property is currently running around 15,000 stock units and consistently achieving good levels of livestock performance.  Sitting halfway between Napier and Wairoa the farm is well tracked with paddocks all accessible by side by side. The farm is continually developing, using modern cropping and recording techniques.


The position of General Farm Hand will include: maintenance of the fences, stock yards and some of the property facilities. At times you will be required to do some stock work (yard work, crutching, docking, shearing, weaning and drenching) and other general farm maintenance such as weed control (as part of the team). There is a small inclusive team on farm, you will have the opportunity to work autonomously and to be part of a team.


Along with a passion for the industry the successful applicant will:

  • Have a high level of fencing, tractor driving and machinery maintenance skills.
  • Stock handling experience with some experience on hill country.
  • Be honest, reliable and a strong communicator.
  • Have a full NZ driver’s licence.
