Job Description

Waikura Limited is looking for an experienced fencer general to join our team due to a valued team member moving to new opportunity within the group.

This is a full time, permanent position. The successful applicant will be involved in all types of fencing construction and repair, electrics included. Working closely with the Farm Divison Manager you will manage your own day to day tasks and supervise two other general hands.

Waikura Limited is well established, progressive company which operates from the Waikura Valley located inland from Hick’s Bay on the East Coast of the North Island of New Zealand.

The company operates a variety of activities including a natural products division, a large sheep and beef dry stock farming operation, roading operations and forestry. The property sits on 10,500 hectares, across five different stations, in one of the most picturesque and unique farming areas in New Zealand.

Key Attributes Required:

  • Our successful candidate will be a team player with a strong work ethic, who can bring a positive attitude to work every day.
  • Experienced in fencing construction and maintenance, including electrics.
  • Post driving skills, tractor and side by side driving experience as well as chainsaw skills.
  • Common sense and an ability to problem solve and make decisions.
  • An attention to detail and tidiness, taking pride in your job.
  • Good attitude to safety in the workplace, and ability to follow procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and with other staff members and communicate effectively.
  • Being mechanically minded or having welding experience an advantage.
