DYNAMIC STOCK PERSON
We seek a dynamic person, who can offer us big energy, skill, and grunt - in the running of our irrigated 340 ha cropping and lamb fattening property, located 12 km from Methven and 20 mins from Ashburton.
This role will involve all aspects of stock work, as well as cropping and general farm work.
Our ideal candidate would have a love of livestock and day to day farm work, and be able to add real value and take a lead in our lamb fattening system - where we fatten roughly 8,000 lambs on farm and at grazing around the district.
Duties include all on farm tasks, but core responsibilities will relate to;
-Sheep husbandry
-Tractor work
-Fert spreading
-Irrigation
-Fencing
-Harvest work
-General maintenance
We are a small team, so there is a variety of work as well as constant opportunity for personal development.

This role will give the applicant the skillset to climb the farm management ladder very quickly.
Previous farming experience will be necessary for this role, as well as a high level of physical fitness.
A good team of working dogs would be seen as highly beneficial.
A tidy three bedroom farm house is available locally.
Remuneration in accordance with ability and experience.
Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa. Applicants will also need a drivers license, and be able to speak English well.

Ardagh Farming Limited is a mixed cropping, and lamb trading operation spread over two blocks, located near Methven in Mid Canterbury.
Annually, the farms winters approximately 8,000 lambs, and fattens these both on farm and at grazing around the Canterbury Plains, as well as growing a wide variety of crops under irrigation.
Crops grown include;
Wheat, barley, peas, radish, ryegrass, clover, rape, and fodder beet.
The business owns a fleet of modern machinery, and most of the work on farm is done in house.
