A progressive & innovative family-owned livestock business requires a passionate & dedicated Livestock Manager.
The Role:
We are in search of someone who is well educated on animal husbandry and everyday management of this mixed farming enterprise. It will be expected that the successful applicant will organise shearing, lamb marking, crutching and the preparation of stock for sale including liaising with agents. This is an opportunity for the right candidate to be involved in other aspects of this exciting business as they work as a team to achieve their goals. The business is made up of 3 full-time employees and 2 part-time they are looking for someone to join this close nit workforce.
The property is well resourced including undercover sheep yards, Undercover cattle crushes, and extensively renovated modern fencing with hot wires. With an average rainfall of 500mm, they crop upwards of 1,900 ha’s every year with a rotation of wheat, canola, and beans along with an annual pasture improvement program. Modern technologies make everyday operations here a breeze with the use of a sheep feeder with scales, new john deere tractors, a class lexion header, hay-making equipment, their own truck, and a new gason airseeder all with GPS.
The Employer:
Our clients are the owner-operators of a large-scale business that is currently joining a total of 3,800 ewes including 2,500 self-replacing merinos, 1,300 terminal joined merinos, and around 80 self-replacing Angus beef cattle.
