Otangiwai
is located in a small settlement called Matiere, approximately 35min from Taumarunui.
We are after a motivated shepherd general to work alongside the manager and current shepherd on a 1500ha balance of good hill country with 300ha of flat.
Current stock consists of mainly trade steers, some grazers and winter lambs. We have started establishing a Romney ewe flock and will get some breeding cattle.
The property has new owners so a development plan is in place to improve water systems, yards, fences etc.
Accommodation can be shared or on your own and salary dependent on experience.
We are after someone that:
- can work in a team environment and individually
- has 2 or more years of experience
- 3-5 working dogs
- has common sense
- a sense of humour
- shows initiative
