Our current Stock Manager is moving to a Farm Managers position, opening up this exciting opportunity for a new Stock Manager to join a young team of 7, with a great culture. This position would suit an experienced Stock Manager who is keen to broaden their skillset, or an experienced shepherd who is ready to step up to a new challenge.

ABOUT THE FARM…
The Wandle is 2,500ha running 16,000 stock units. It ranges from tussock country on the Rock and Pillar Range to river flats bordering the Taieri River. It boasts extremely well developed and maintained infrastructure. This is a progressive business incorporating breeding stock, including a sheep stud, along with several different finishing systems.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY…
This role will involve managing all our livestock enterprises, as well as leading the livestock staff. This requires the ability to think dynamically and be adaptable, as well as effectively utilising the resources available to you – your team, feed, and infrastructure. You will also have input and insight into the strategic running of the whole property and be involved with goal setting and planning.

Duties:
• Managing 4 livestock staff
• Implementing the strategic plan with the support of the Manager and Maintenance Manager
• Record keeping on Farm IQ
• Feed budgeting
• Forecasting feed available – stock purchases and sales
• Liaising with external contractors, drafters etc.

You may have previous experience in some or all of these areas, if there are areas that the successful candidate needs to grow in, they will be fully supported to gain those skills.
