Job Description
Braxton is a 1200ha flat to rolling Sheep and Beef property, located 5 minutes from Mossburn in Northern Southland. Mossburn is a great little community with a Rugby Club, Dog Trail Club, Playgroup and Primary School.
We require a Shepherd/General to join our team. Running 6500 Ewes, 2000 Replacements Hoggets, and 70 breeding cows. All stock is finished on farm, with trading stock brought in when the season allows. We strive to do as much as we can ''inhouse'', so this role offers plenty of day-to-day variety.
The role will include but not limited to:
- Regular Stock movements
- Yard work - drenching, vaccinating, crutching, dipping, weighing
- Tractor work - ground prep, drilling, feeding out, topping
- Fencing new & repairs
- General farm Repairs & Maintenace
The ideal Applicant will have:
- Experience with stock handling
- Tractor experience
- At least 3 working dogs
- The ability to work efficiently on your own and as part of the team
- A can-do attitude with the confidence to give things a go
- Able to communicate effectively via text, email and in person
- Honest, Reliable & willing to learn
