Farm Maintenance Manager

Located in Paparoa, Olgino Station is a 290hec hill country beef farm.

The farm has undergone significant improvements in the last year to become a wonderful farm with excellent infrastructure. The property is well-resourced with new cattle yards, races and a completely rebuilt water supply and storage solution. The owners provide an excellent work culture and value their people.

We are looking for a part-time Farm Maintenance Manager to join our team, (approx. 8 hours a week).

This role involves:

·         Repair and Maintenance on farm roads and fences, repairing damage where necessary.

·         Repairing flood and storm damage to fences, races or other farm property.

·         Water Reticulation; installing new troughs, metaling around troughs, looking for water leaks, ensuring all paddocks have water.

·         General land maintenance; spraying weeds or thistles, sowing grass when needed.

·         Mulching when necessary.

·         Assisting Stock Manager with livestock in yards if needed.

The ideal candidate will need:

·         Experience operating machinery, for agricultural and general work.

·         To be mechanically minded.

·         Their own accommodation.

·         A reliable vehicle.

·         To be physically fit and able.

·         Strong communication skills and time management.

·         To adhere to health and safety policies.

·         To pass pre-employment checks including passing a drug and alcohol test.

·         The right to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ Work Visa.
