About the role.
We’re on the lookout for a dedicated, hands-on 2IC to work alongside the farm owner, taking charge of day-to-day operations on our 940ha (600 effective) hill country sheep and beef farm, including livestock operations & management, pasture & crop management and farm maintenance.
This is a challenging but rewarding role, ideal for someone with great stockmanship looking to build their leadership, and operational skills with a longer-term goal of developing their career in the industry.
As 2IC, you’ll work closely with the Farm Owner and Farm Consultant to ensure smooth, efficient, and productive farm operations. Your responsibilities will include:
What We’re Looking For.
Running 5,500 stock units, we need someone who is proactive, hardworking, and committed to farming. You’ll be trusted to work independently and make decisions when the farm owner is unavailable. Excellent record keeping skills are a must.
You need to hold a current full driver’s license and have experience with quad bikes, side by sides and tractors, being confident to work on hill country. You must also have a reliable team of 4-5 working dogs.

Kereru Farm Weber is an award-winning, fourth-generation sheep and beef farm in Weber—a great little rural community 35 km east of Dannevirke in the Tararua District, North Island New Zealand.
