Riverlea is a standalone farming operation and is part of a larger farming business, both within the King Country and internationally. The wider business is known as “Ingleby”. Riverlea is a 700ha property located 5 minutes south of Piopio along the banks of the Mokau river. It is a high performing sheep & beef breeding & finishing unit. With livestock finishing being its primary focus. It operates over a mixture of contours from flat/easy rolling to steep hill country.

Riverlea is looking for a 2IC to join its team. This is a hands-on roll working directly along side the farm manager. Your focus will be on livestock performance, grazing rotations, animal health, & general farm maintenance.

The successful candidate will

-          Have a good knowledge base in stock management, animal health, and rotational grazing.

-          Have a drive to achieve high level stock performance

-          Be adaptable & self-motivated with good attention to detail

-          Possess good record keeping & communication skills

-          Be honest, reliable, and enjoy working as part of a team

-          Have the ability to assume management of the farm in the managers absence

-          Maintain a team of 3-4 well trained dogs

-          Be tidy around farm buildings

The position comes with a tidy 3-bedroom home plus a sleep out. Remuneration will be based on the successful applicants’ abilities and experience.
