Job Description

A Shepherd General is required for Cape Kidnappers Station, 27 km southeast of Napier. This is a 2057 ha property (1050 ha in pasture) running breeding ewes, breeding cows and beef finishing cattle. Cape Kidnappers is a stunning coastal work environment.

The person will assist the farm manager in implementing the farming policy, optimizing farm productivity and maintaining farm infrastructure. This role will also involve interaction with other businesses on the property which include an international golf course, luxury lodge and Cape Sanctuary wildlife preserve.

The successful applicant will have good general farming skills. They will need to possess at least 2 well controlled working dogs, good communication skills, ability to get along with a wide range of people and a strong work ethic. They will be physically fit, have a willingness to learn.

Previous fencing experience and ability to shear sheep is preferred.
