Job Description

Otairi Station is a 3300ha hill country sheep and beef property with a main focus on breeding, and is run in conjunction with fattening blocks.
The station runs 15000 Kelso breeding ewes and 4000 replacements and currently winters 300 cows and 400 steers.
The farm is located 15 minutes drive from Hunterville and 1 hr from Palmerston North and Wanganui.

A full time position has become available for an experienced Fencer/General.
The position will involve working alongside 4 other staff members at times as well as carrying out a wide range of individual jobs.
These jobs will include:

*Maintenance of conventional batten fences.
*Some new fencing.
*Maintenance of stations water supply.
*General maintenance.

The suitable applicant will demonstrate the following qualities:

*Competent fencing skills.
*Knowledge of water systems. (stock water no irrigation)
*Be able to work efficiently unsupervised.
*Be able to work within a large team of staff at times and demonstrate strong communication and people skills.
*Be tidy and show pride in their work environment.
*Physically fit with a strong work ethic.
