Farm Hand

Locmaria Farms is a prime lamb producer based 25kms from Naracoorte, South Australia, Australia. Safety is Locmaria Farms highest business priority. Its cell grazing operation is based on 1400ha including irrigated pasture.

This farm hand role forms part of our operations team working with sheep, within a rotational cell grazing operation. It is a permanent full time role based on 38 hours per week.  Overtime and rostered weekend work is required.

The role forms part of the operation team which reports to the Manager-Operations.

Skills and experience

Essential requirements:

• Previous farm hand experience
• Experience and knowledge of working with livestock- Sheep
• 3 years experience in livestock or recent tertiary agriculture graduate
• Driver's licence

Advantageous:

• Knowledge of rotational cell grazing
• Experience with lamb finishing
• Knowledge and experience working with pivot irrigation
• Forklift and Heavy Vehicle licences
• Chemical handling certification
