Bowlands is a family owned, sheep & beef breeding and finishing operation located 20km from Masterton. This well-developed, 1337ha (770ha effective) farming business is a mixture of flat to steeper hill country made up of both owned and leased land. The livestock policy comprises 3100 breeding ewes, 800 in lamb hoggets, 160 breeding cows, 30 2yr heifers, 100 yearling cattle and 100 yearling bulls.
We seek a Stock Manager for this newly created position that will provide plenty of exposure to the business end of farming and for the right person present excellent long term prospects.

This is a fantastic opportunity for the appointee to be an integral part of the decision making process as the owner looks to refine the farm policies with the goal of improving livestock production and pastures.
As the Stock Manager you will have excellent stockmanship, a capable team of 5 working dogs and good communication skills. Ideally you will be competent with using modern farm management software such as Farmax, FarmIQ and Figured however provided you have computer literacy skills, professional development and training will be offered to the preferred applicant.
Accommodation is a spacious four bedroom home with two lounges, two bathrooms and two wood burners. There is a school bus to various primary and secondary school options in nearby Masterton.
