Looking for a Herdsman on a cattle ranch in Canada

We are looking for someone to join us in the 2020 season and beyond. Employment would ideally begin in January-February 2020, full time. 1-2 years or more.

We are a large purebred and commercial cattle operation in Alberta, Canada. We calve out over 400 cows, sell purebred bulls, background 260+ and raise our own feed. Looking for someone to be a part of the operation in a roll that will cover all aspects of the farm from calving to breeding, haying to harvest, checking and processing cattle, fencing and treating.  Decision making and thinking on your feet are a requirement

Housing on site. Wages competitive.

Our current hand has been great from NZ, (grew up on a sheep station) and her visa is up. We are looking to replace her roll.

We are a busy family and we do a lot with our hired hands to make them welcome and be a part of our family and our operation.  It’s important to us that this feels like home and that they like their work.

We would like someone with stock experience; cattle, sheep, with larger numbers looking to learn and experience cattle. Operating equipment will be required. Positive attitude and problem solving are strong attributes.

If you are interested in travelling to Canada and have a keen interest in agriculture please message me, and send your resume to redlinelivestock@hotmail.com

We live one hour from the Canadian Rocky Mountains, and Calgary. Our area is busy and has a lot of young farmers, and a lot of activities revolving around agriculture and horses, as well as sports.
