Full Time Permanent Position.
Viewfield is a sheep (fine wool), beef & cropping property situated in the Hakataramea Valley. The diversity of the property compiled over mainly flat to rolling land sees sheep and cattle bred and finished on the farm with all supplementary feed produced on site.
This rolling hill country property is highly productive with quality support and equipment. Located 10 minutes from the service town of Kurow this opportunity supports local offerings such as sports clubs, lake activities, school bus route, fantastic hunting & fishing plus more.
This position provides plenty of variety and is a great opportunity for someone with a minimum of 2 years full time sheep and beef experience.
The successful applicant will:
- be honest, reliable and have strong communication skills,
- show interest in all aspects of farming, stock work, pasture management and maintenance
- ideally have 2 - 3 working dogs under good command,
- have proven stock handling skills, alongside; animal husbandry, observational qualities and record keeping
- be competent in general farm work and machinery maintenance
- have a full NZ drivers license and the right to work in NZ
Duties will include stock work, tractor work, and general farm maintenance. The successful applicant will be working as part of a team alongside the owner and contractors but will also require the ability to work alone as circumstances arise. There will be ongoing industry training if sought/required for the successful applicant.
Due to the level of experience required we cannot consider those with no experience or those looking for short term work only.
A comfortable 3 bedroom house is available and remuneration will be set according to experience and skill level.
