A BIT ABOUT WARRAMBEEN…

Warrambeen is situated in Central Victoria, Australia and is privately owned by the Taylor family, it has been in their family for 130 years. They have developed this unique land into a Merino sheep breeding and cropping operation.

The Livestock business has a detailed plan 5 year plan to drive up farm carrying capacity, lamb and wool production, with a focus on profitability and sustainability. This role is supported by some of the best merino advisers in Australia and New Zealand.  

THE OPPORTUNITY…

The Stock Manager will be responsible for the day to day stock work on the farm, as well as assisting the Farm Manager with the management of the overall operation. Key responsibilities include:

  • Co-ordinating livestock contractors
  • Infrastructure maintenance
  • Pasture management and livestock grazing
  • Condition scoring, will teach/upskill in this area
  • Communicating with the farm team, stock agent and livestock advisor

A BIT ABOUT YOU…

Along with relevant agricultural experience and a passion for farming, you will need the following to be successful in this role:

  • A capable team of working dogs and the ability to manage large flocks of sheep, and be able to plan
  • Good levels of stockmanship with a keen eye for animal health in stock
  • An understanding of environmental compliance
  • High energy and a caring attitude, take ownership
  • Computer literacy
