Southern Cross now requires a Sheep Breeding/Drystock Manager. You will be responsible for the management of the breeding/drystock operation of 630ha, which may grow in time. A crucial aspect of this role will be growing out the young stock – both ewe and ram hoggets with the goal to have top quality ewe hoggets in lamb ready for the new season milk suppliers.
You will work closely with the Management team including the Dairy Farm Manager, GM Farming and the Genetics team to manage the two ewe flocks - the multiplier flock (year-round) and the nucleus breeding ewes (once dried off).
There is also a cattle trading element to this role.
