About us

Glanworth is an 890Ha sheep and beef farm, located 20 minutes from Pahiatua and 40 minutes from Palmerston North. Currently running 8000 SU. The farm is a great balance of flat to steep hill country. Glanworth also runs a successful Angus stud, selling around 70 bulls a year. Glanworth has a strong focus on achieving good financial performance through good old fashioned stock performance. We used technology to enhance this performance.

The opportunity

The successful applicant will be working alongside the farm owner and at times casual staff. The right applicant will be given the opportunity to make stock decisions for a designated stock class or block of land. There is opportunity to progress within the business for the right applicant. The applicant must be able to work alone and have experience in a variety of tasks such as mustering, yard work, crutching, docking, weaning and drenching. Some general farm maintenance will be required.

About you

Along with the relevant experience you MUST be passionate about agriculture and:

  • Be honest, reliable and have good communication skills
  • Have 2+ years experience.
  • Ideally have 3-4 working dogs under good command
  • Be willing to learn and upskill
  • Bring a positive, can do attitude
  • Have a full NZ driver’s license

On offer

The position is a great stepping stone into a stock manager position. We can teach you how to achieve good stock performance, pastural management and genetics. A warm, dry 3-bedroom home is available. A school bus runs from the end of the road for both local primary and secondary schools. Further education will be supported. Competitive remuneration package will be dependent on experience.
