Shepherd General – Glenrock Station, Tekapo. Glenrock Station is one of the four Merino Sheep stations owned by Reda Farms NZ. The station is located in a remote location, but within a 10-minute drive of Lake Tekapo township. Located south of Burkes Pass in the mountainous drama, it is picturesque by day and dazzling by night, making it the perfect place to live, work, play and stargaze.

The local community on Haldon Road are very friendly and enjoy lots of sociable events. The team at Glenrock Station farm 14,000ha ranging in altitude from 600-1800m. Running 12,000SU – made up of Merinos, half-breds and Angus cattle; with good infrastructure, range of farm machinery and resource support when required from within the Reda Farm NZ group.

The Farm Manager at Glenrock Station leads his team collaboratively and focuses on continuous improvement to benefit the station operations, livestock production and team member professional development.
We seek a Shepherd General to join our team for stock work, with plenty of enjoyable mustering that is carried out on foot. *Fitness for the role is an important criteria.

Our ideal candidate will have the following skillset and attributes;

  • Good stockmanship, with experience handling large mobs
  • Be able to work well in a team or on your own
  • Honest, reliable, and punctual with good communication
  • Take pride in your work and be willing to learn new skills
  • Have a well-trained team of dogs
  • Have a full driver’s license

Single accommodation is included in the remuneration package.
