My current role involves generating sales, calling on farms, and providing advice to all livestock sectors in my territory. This includes supplying animal health, minerals, poultry supplies, biosecurity, etc. This has furthered my knowledge on dairy chemicals, milk powder, and hygiene practices.
Completed animal health export certificates for export deliveries and processed customer orders and invoicing. Produced regular reports for sales figures, production, and performance through Excel. Contacted customers to discuss prices and availability of products.
Provided practical and technical knowledge of products such as feed and animal health. Organised the daily running of the store including administration of paperwork. Qualified as an SQP through AMTRA to prescribe animal health medicines.
Assisted senior consultants with written reports, tasks, and site visits for nutrient management. Assisted in tender and delivery of contracted projects including research and coordinated soil sampling visits to farms in Wales.
Managed all aspects of youngstock on an intensive 600 cow all year round dairy unit including feeding, health treatments, vaccinations, treatment records, and liaising with the vet on best practices.
Daily duties included twice a day herd milking, grassland management through AgriWebb, dairy hygiene, calf rearing, and scraping out. Responsible for detecting cows in heat and treating lame and mastitis cows. Developed practical knowledge of dairy health and welfare.
