Experienced shepherd Drysdale is 2500 ha of medium to steep hill country 25km west of Hunterville run in conjunction with 400 ha finishing block at Halcombe. We run a very simple stock system targeting high performance sheep with clear cut stock performance targets and a dry stock beef operation purchasing 2yo Steers and finishing them as 3yo. Stock are mostly set stocked so there is minimal weekend work and no supplementary feeding. This family-owned sheep and beef business is based in Te Akau, Waikato. The operation has 410 hectares of rolling to steep country and runs 1000 breeding ewes and 300 hoggets.
