Farm Equipment Operator
New South Wales, Australia
Hi, my name is Maurice Kersten. I am a 23-year-old German currently living in Australia, and I am looking for seasonal farm work in New Zealand for at least one full season.
I have previous experience on an organic dairy farm and on a mixed farm with sheep, cattle and pigs. I also have extensive experience caring for horses and have assisted with dairy milking and cattle work.
My machinery experience includes approximately 40–50 hours on excavators, several hundred hours on forklifts, 10–15 hours on skid steers and basic tractor experience grading with a blade and towing smaller trailers. I am not claiming to be an experienced tractor operator yet, but I am very interested in developing into one and am comfortable working around machinery.
I currently work as an apprentice carpenter and have experience with fencing, framing, construction, timber handling and general property maintenance. I hold a clean manual driver’s licence, Australian forklift licence and White Card.
I am travelling alone, would require accommodation and am flexible about working anywhere in the South Island, although Central Otago or somewhere reasonably close to Queenstown would be preferred. I am comfortable working long and irregular hours during busy periods, provided all hours are paid.
Please let me know if you have a suitable general farmhand, dairy, fencing or junior machinery-operator position available.
Kind regards,
Maurice Kersten
