I have 22 years' experience in the commercial beef (including grass-fed beef) and beef stud industry, as well as agronomy (large scale cropping of maize, sunflower, soybeans and dry beans), plus growing fodder crops (grass, legumes, feed sorghum, japanese radish, including making silage). Interpretation of soil analyses on request, as is soil amelioration (for fellow farmers as well). The past four years have been solely focused on stud beef breeding and being involved in the breeder's society as an inspector.
Trained and worked as geologist, MSc in geology and soil science. Worked for Goldfields in 1991 until 1997 (senior geologist). Returned to family farm in 1997.
