Due to unforseen circumstances, we are looking for an experienced arable farm worker to join our family farming operation near Temuka. This is a fixed term position starting now until April/May 2020. In return for your proven experience we offer: * A competitive salary or hourly rate * An opportunity to grow your farming career The successful candidate will travel to the farm each day, which is located 7 kilometres north-east of Temuka. Main crops grown on our property include ryegrass, brassica seed, vegetable seed, plantain, cereals and onions. Livestock are also integrated into our operation. As part of our farming practice we have adopted precision farming systems, including variable rate of inputs over all our crops during the growing season. Your duties will include: * Operating and maintaining a modern range of machinery and plant * Irrigation - laterals & hard hose guns * Fertiliser spreading * Harvest * Livestock * General farm work If you are motivated, have attention to detail, willing to learn and enjoy working in a team environment but also capable of working unsupervised, we would like to hear from you.You must be flexible with days and hours of work during seasonal peak times. Preference will be given to someone who has licence classes 4 or 5 and forklift experience.
