Rural Directions Advisory Services (RDAS) is an established technical advisory business delivering environmental outcomes to clients across the country. The RDAS team of professionals help their clients to understand the impact of operational decisions on-farm through the measuring and monitoring of information. This is achieved by utilising the latest technology such as electromagnetic high-resolution mapping and real time environmental monitoring via sensor ecosystems and drones. The business is based in Havelock North and shares its office space with the Rural Directions Recruitment & HR team who have been operating in the people business for over 15 years. RDAS are seeking a Land Management Advisor to join the team with the role offering scope, autonomy and accountability. The appointee will assist with current contractual demands including farm environmental and asset management plans, nutrient management planning, production system overviews and riparian planning and over time the role will develop into full client management. Prototyping and trialling, monitoring and the management of systems in conjunction with regulators and producers are all part of this interesting and varied role. This position requires strong relationship management skills, computer literacy and an understanding of farming fundamentals and systems is essential. Knowledge of supply and demand in farming systems, Overseer, GHG and other technical platforms will be seen as positive attributes and certification in these will be beneficial. RDAS have a Hawke’s Bay based office however there is some flexibility as to the location this role can be worked from as travel throughout New Zealand is required in order to service the wide range of contracts in place with clients. RDAS has many exciting developments in the pipeline including working in conjunction with a new business called MyEnviro (a next generation Certified Environmental Management System providing outcomes to producers with live, high-resolution and accurate data).
