Mt Allen Ltd

Senior Shepherd required for 1220 ha property situated 15km from Heriot, West Otago. West Otago has a strong rural community. Mt Allen Ltd is a developed rolling hill property, carrying approximately 13000 stock units of sheep and beef, breeding and finishing. You will be supported by the farm manager, allowing you to further develop your skills in all aspects of the day to day running of a large scale property.

Mt Allen Ltd is one of three farms that pool labour and machinery, spread over 3500 hectares. The job will consist of stock work, general maintenance with minimal tractor driving.

 Ideal candidate will need to have had approximately 3 years’ experience in the sheep breeding/finishing industry, at least 3 working dogs, show initiative, be self-motivated, work independently or as part of a team for busy periods. There also could be an opportunity for a partner or mate to be employed on our expanded neighboring property.      

Accommodation available either 2 or 3 bedroom home.  Very competitive salary for the right person.
