About Mulgowie
One of Australia’s most successful farming operations, Mulgowie grows, packs, and distributes fresh produce for both Australian and International markets. Growing from humble beginnings, Mulgowie has complex farm and food production operations across Australia, with a mandate for continued growth and expansion across existing and new markets and product lines. We are passionate about cultivating Healthy Soil, growing Healthy Plants, and producing nutritious products for Healthy People. To support the delivery of fresh produce, we are looking for a Harvester and Truck Drivers (on a permanent and casual basis) to join our team in North Queensland, near the Whitsunday Islands.
The Roles
We are seeking highly motivated, focused and flexible workers, with demonstrated experience in the Horticulture industry to confidently perform these roles:
- Harvester Operators
- Truck drivers (HR, HC or MC Licensed).
You will be based locally in North Queensland - in Bowen or Home Hill - near the Whitsundays, and be flexible to work evening and early morning shifts during our North Queensland harvest season from May to November. At the end of the North Queensland season, there is an opportunity to transition to our sites along the east of Australia, providing you with regular work throughout the year. We are committed to developing our team members and will provide good machine operators with strong spatial awareness the opportunity to be trained and gain experience operating our harvesters.
The successful applicants will possess the following:
- Flexibility to work a 24/7-day roster (especially though peak production periods)
- Experience in fresh produce carrying (preferred)
- Willing to work in other areas of the operation
- Strong work ethic with a focus on safety and quality
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Reliable and trustworthy personality
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Be a proactive team member
- Understanding of CoR and fatigue management
The essential skills for these roles (depending on role applied for) are:
- Valid and current HR/HC or MC License
- Work in a fast-paced environment and be adaptable to change
- Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
