Drystock Farming Couple Position;
Location Pahiatua, Tararua, Lower North Island.
An exciting opportunity has arisen in our growing Farming Business.
We are looking for a positive, motivated couple to join our dairy business - 900+ha includes two dairy farms and runoff/dry stock blocks.
1.Dry stock Manager & Farm Maintenance -experienced fencer, highly experienced in Tractor and Quad operation, machinery breakdowns, dry stock management, pasture management, dry stock animal health, dry stock
mustering/shifting and weighing/drenching youngstock. There is no milking in this role. No dairy experience required as this is a dry stock manager/farm maintenance position only.
2.Sole Calf Rearer - July-December calf feeding - experience not necessary, though must love caring for calves and have basic animal health understanding. 950 cows calving - rearing 280-400 calves. Regular weekend relief milkings and herd test assist after December is available if interested in further hours.
Tidy 4 bedroom House provided on farm with renovated bathroom, back from our no exit farm road. Carport, garage, and lawn. Our farms are situated along the Manawatu River near Mangatainoka in the Tararua region, with great fishing where the rivers meet. 40mins drive to Palmerston North and 12 mins to Pahiatua township.
We require farming experience in the sheep/beef or dairy industry. Proof of excellent farm maintenance, fixing breakages on farm, fencing and stock husbandry required. A clean and tidy couple who take pride in their house and garden is a must.
