Clarke & Megan Horrell run this family-owned business, in Waikaia, Northern Southland. The operation is on 720hectares of predominantly flat land and includes 5500 Romney, Coop, Texel breeding ewes, 1800 hoggets, finishing 85% of lambs & breeding own replacements, trading beef cattle and wintering dairy cows. It’s a hands-on operation where pride is taken in good stockmanship, well kept infrastructure, and doing the basics well. Our focus is on strong production and profitability while maintaining a practical, sustainable and consistent work environment to achieve a well-balanced lifestyle. Duties will include, but are not limited to the following : Moving stock, shifting breaks, setting up grazing paddocks and general stock observation.
