We are looking for someone (or a couple) to join out agri team as we get stuck into an exciting new project in North Otago, Southh Island.
The work will be varied and hands on, including:
- Tractor Work
- Fencing
- Farm development
- Dry Stock Work (This is a support block for a neighbouring Dairy Farm)
- There is an option for short term or long term work depending on the right candidate
We run a 1000 cow dairy farm located in Duntroon (30mins inland of Oamaru) however this job is for the adjourning block that we are are developing from October onwards. No milking is required for this role.
Duties include: Tractor work, irrigation fittings, post driving, removing fences, new fencing and some general cattle work. Plenty of variety!
Hours: This could be flexible for the right person, we currently run a 6:2 roster over the business but this role does have a possibility of having set days or some weekends off. A great young farmers club in the area and close to main centres for your days off.
Accommodation: Provided on farm. We have a small cottage, small house and also a larger family house available later on. School bus at the end of the road fro both Primary and Secondary.
To be successful, you must:
- Have some previous farm experience (essential)
- Be confident to learn or can drive a tractor and/or operating farm machinery
- Hold a full, current driver's licence
- Have experience working with stock
- Be physically fit, heathy and happy working outdoors
- Be reliable, hardworking, and able to work unsupervised
- We are looking for someone who is reliable, practical, keen to get stuck in and enjoys a good mix of farm work.
