Job Description

The opportunity has become available for the role of Farm Manager at Clonkeen Station, located at Nuhaka – between  Gisborne and Wairoa

The 830ha -620ha effective hectare property is under new ownership and there are exciting plans ahead to develop the property into a show case farm.  

Initial stock policies will be cattle only, with virtual fences utilised to control stock and pasture quality. Sheep will be integrated into the farm system once development has occurred over the coming years.

The successful candidate will play a big part in driving the farm stock policies over time.

The business also has external staff who will be available during the year to do general work

The new owners are excited about development plans that currently consist of investing in or building – a new airstrip and bin, 3 sets of cattle yards, multiple km of fencing, 500kg superphosphate/ ha, drainage of flats, regressing of easy country and new water systems

 

The successful candidate will require:

· To be competent in progressive farming techniques and practices including the ambition to upskill in virtual fencing grazing methods

∙An eye for detail and tidyness

· The willingness and ability to complete R&M jobs

· A can-do attitude, with excellent leadership and communication skills and ability to work with various team members

· An open mind and enjoy new challenges

 

The owners are prepared negotiate remuneration package with the successful candidate

Start date is intended for 20 March 2026, but this date can be discussed further.

The large 4 bedroom, farm homestead with will be made available for the successful candidate.
