Location: Mangaohutu Station – 45km southwest of Taumarunui
Employment Type: Full-time
Reports to: Farm Owner/Manager

About Mangaohutu Station

Mangaohutu Station is a 1,700-hectare hill-country farm in the Central North Island, part of a family network of five farms. We maintain high farming standards and a strong team ethic. This role works closely with the farm manager and values initiative and thoughtful support to achieve farm goals.

Farm Features

Land Composition:

o   70 ha flat to rolling

o   1,430 ha hill country

o   200 ha bush and scrub

·        Six-stand woolshed (approx. 3,000 night pen, fully covered)

·        Multiple cattle and sheep yards (including covered and combination yards)

·        Satellite sheep yards

·        Shearers’ quarters and single man’s quarters near the woolshed

·        Mail delivery 5 days/week

·        Primary and secondary schooling in Taumarunui (boarding options available)

Role purpose

Join our team on a large and diverse property near Taumarunui. As a General Farm Hand, you’ll split your time 50/50 between general farm maintenance and hands-on livestock work. You’ll handle repairs, fencing, and equipment as well as assist with stock movements, feeding, and animal health.

·        Full-time, 40–50 hours/week (seasonal variation)

Key Requirements:

·        NZ Visa and Driver License

·        Experience with livestock and working dogs

·        Farm machinery and fencing skills

·        Physically fit and safety-conscious

·        ATV experience in hill-country

·        Tractor driver experience

·        Keen interest to learn
