Do you enjoy working with quality stock? An exciting opportunity has become available on a 2100ha hill country sheep & beef farm, this roll is 95% stock work, wintering 15,000 su. Valdor is a semi-intensive breeder/finisher property, located 20 mins north Masterton.
We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced shepherd that has a minimum of 2-3 years experience in sheep and beef to work alongside the farm owner, head shepherd, and fencer-general. There is real potential for growth within this role as this farm is part of a larger family business comprising of 80,000 su.
The successful applicant requires the following:
· Good level of stockmanship with 3-4 working dogs
· Strong communications skills, motivated, organized and good time management.
· Must be honest and reliable and work well by yourself or within a team
- Must keep a tidy house
The shepherd role comes with a competitive remuneration package based on experience including a tidy 3-bedroom home.
