Job Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join us at Stone Jug Deer, 35 km inland from Kaikoura township.
The Stone Jug consists of 550 hectares of flat to easy rolling country with a total area of 1290 hectares. We run velvet stags, breeding hinds, breeding cows, finishing cattle and a small number of ewes to help with weed control.
Job description: assist with the day to day running of the farm including stock movements and stockwork, general farm maintenance, fencing, water systems, irrigation, weed control, feeding out and ongoing improvements to infrastructure.
The successful applicant will:

*demonstrate strong attention to detail
*have a good work ethic and be honest and reliable
*have excellent communication and time management skills
*be self motivated and show initiative
*have strengths in fencing (maintenance and new)
*be capable of and happy to work independently
*work well with others
*be keen to learn
*have common sense
*be confident to work in the deer yards/shed, including assisting with velveting stags (Experience with deer preferred but not essential).
What we offer: a good salary commensurate with ability. A good three bedroom house with school bus at gate. N.T. Allowances where applicable. Rostered weekends over winter. Flexible time off but will be expected to be available when required for seasonal work, i.e. velveting, hay and silage harvesting.
MUST BE A NZ CITIZEN OR HOLD A CURRENT NZ WORK VISA.
Should currently be employed on-farm in NZ.
