Shepherd General

We have an exciting opportunity for a Shepherd/General to join our team at Kereru Station located in the beautiful Kereru District, 30 minutes west of Hastings.

Kereru Station is a 2,400 ha (1,600 ha eff grazing) sheep, beef and cropping farm, ranging from flat to steep hill country. The well-resourced property boasts innovative infrastructure and utilises modern technology, including recently introduced Halter technology across our cattle.

We operate a range of stock policies, the four core policies being sheep breeding, cattle breeding, bull finishing and lamb finishing.

We are looking for a reliable, motivated team player who is keen to get stuck in and work with the whole team of 6 full-time staff to drive the farm to succeed. We are a progressive, motivated team who enjoy using new technology to drive efficiencies across the business.

Ideally you will bring:

• A great attitude to work, and to learning
• An easy-going personality, self-motivation, good communication, and the ability to work autonomously or in a team
• A high standard of work, with attention to detail and tidiness
• A keenness to use and learn technologies
• A high level of stockmanship
• A high standard of health & safety in all aspects of your work
• 3 to 5 well-trained dogs under good command
