Job Description
A permanent position is available for a keen and reliable individual on a large-scale sheep and beef operation.
Siberia Station is a 3,100ha hill country station situated 35 minutes from Hunterville and 40 minutes from Taihape. Siberia Station runs 15,000 m/a ewes, 4,800 hoggets, 170 cows and up to 1,400 trade steers.
The successful applicant will work in conjunction with the farm manager, in a team of five permanent staff members, to carry out the day to day running of the property.
Your role:
As a general hand, you will play a vital role in the daily operations of a well-maintained sheep and beef farm. Working closely with the Farm Manager in a tight-knit team, you’ll be responsible for ensuring infrastructure remains in top condition. You will need knowledge of conventional fencing and competence in operating tractors and farm machinery. You will assist with livestock management and yard work during busy periods, such as docking, shearing and weaning.
