Mt Erin Station is a 1,200 ha property wintering 7,600 stock units located near Havelock North, Hawkes Bay. The station is predominantly hard hill country with 60 ha of irrigated flats, running 2,600 perendale ewes plus replacements, 250 angus cows plus replacements and 420 trade cattle. The property is undergoing a large amount of development to increase its productive capability.
Mt Erin Station is looking for a shepherd general who will support the manager in the day to day running of the farm. Experience is preferable but we are willing to take on someone who will work hard with less experience. A broad range of work is done on the property and is a good opportunity for someone looking to upskill.
The role includes:
Stockwork
Repairs and maintenance
Shearing and crutching
Weed control
We are looking for someone who is:
Hard working, fit and motivated to accomplish day to day tasks
Team of dogs under good control (4-5) that can muster hard hill country
Able to work well independently and in a team setting
Reliable and honest
Possesses good communication skills
