Job Description
A Shepherd General position has become available on a 800 Ha sheep and cattle breeding, finishing and trading farm which also includes a 100 Ha irrigated land and an additional 35 Ha cropped.
Rotoma Station winters 10,000 stock units and is located only 20 minutes from Hastings.
We are seeking an experienced, reliable and motvated Shepherd to work in this role that is both stock work and general work.
The key attributes we are looking for are:
· Minimum of 2 years experience working on NZ cattle and sheep farms.
- the position involves a varied range of jobs including stock work, fencing, repairs, tractor work, irrigation, spraying.
· must have 2-3 well controlled working dogs.
· The ability to work and communicate well with management, employees,
contractors, agents and the community. The ability to work autonomously or in a team
· Self-motivated, reliable and hardworking individual with willingness to learn and progress through their career.
· Must have a positive attitude, have a sound work ethic, be trustworthy and reliable.
The position includes a 3 bedroom house, a competitive remuneration package, and would suit a working couple.
