SHEEP & BEEF MANAGER – STEP INTO MANAGEMENT
San Rosa – Strathmore, Taranaki
Join our team at San Rosa, part of the Gavin Jordan family farming business. The property is approximately 400 hectares effective sheep & beef property, ranging from flat to steep terrain, located inland from Stratford, Taranaki.
We are running a breeding-focused sheep and beef operation, wintering approximately:
· 2,000 ewes
· 200 in-calf Angus cows
· 300 rising one-year cattle

The Opportunity:
We are looking for a positive, capable and hardworking individual to join us as a Station Manager.
This role will suit either:
· Someone ready to step up into their first management position, or
· An experienced manager looking for a solid, well-supported farming operation
The role involves taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of the farm, while continuing to build skills in management and decision-making.

The successful applicant will:
· Have solid practical sheep and beef farming experience
· Have a good team of working dogs
· Be able to work independently and make decisions, while working alongside the owners
· Have a high standard of stockman ship
· Have good general fencing and farm maintenance skills
· Have effective communication skills, common sense, and good time management
· Have a positive attitude and sense of humor
· Hold a current NZ driver’s license
· Must have New Zealand Residency.
Key Responsibilities:
· Day-to-day management of stock and farm operations
· Grazing management and seasonal stock work (lambing, calving, docking and shearing etc)
· General farm maintenance (fencing, yards buildings, water and weeds etc)
· Monitoring stock performance and condition
· Working with owners on farm planning and development
· Coordinating contractors and occasional staff
