Job Description
Otago Airspread is an agricultural topdressing company servicing the Otago and Southland areas. We require a full time loader driver to join the team at our Balclutha base.
The position requires loading the topdressing planes, moving loaders to and from airstrips and basic maintenance of machinery.
No two days are the same in this industry. The job gives you the opportunity to work in some of Otago/Southland’s most scenic areas while in the loader, or in the sky flying to and from jobs.
REQUIRED
- Classes 2 and 4 heavy traffic (we are happy to assist with class 4 if you fit the criteria to attain immediately)
- A dangerous goods license would be a bonus but we can assist with that.
- Positive hardworking attitude
- Flexibility - Agricultural aviation is a weather-dependent industry, so flexibility is important. Start and finish times may vary, and hours of work will change depending on weather conditions and seasonal demand.
- One of the benefits of the role is the work-life balance it offers - quieter winter periods and unsuitable flying days provide regular paid downtime. A typical year in this role involves approximately 1,200 - 1,400 working hours, compared with around 2,000 hours in a standard full-time 40-hour-per-week position.
