Job Description

Lone Star Farms is seeking a motivated Shepherd to join the team at Caberfeidh Station, a 5,300ha (effective) breeding and finishing operation in the Hakataramea Valley.

This high-performing farm winters around 30,000 stock units, peaking at over 40,000 SU, and includes 720 Angus cows, 13,500 Headwaters ewes and replacements, plus a significant trading and finishing enterprise.

This role would ideally suit someone in the early stages of their farming career who is looking to further develop their stockmanship, leadership skills, and long-term career opportunities within a progressive farming business.

Ideally, you will have:

• 1–3 years' practical shepherding experience
• A proactive approach to health and safety
• A capable team of well-mannered dogs
• Strong stockmanship and attention to detail
• Good communication skills
• A willingness to learn and develop your skillset
• A strong work ethic and positive attitude
• The ability to work well within a team environment
