Job Description
Puketi Farms Limited is a 725ha beef breeding and finishing farm, including an Angus Stud, located in Okaihau, Northland, 30mins from Kerikeri and Kaikohe.
The farm has river flats to rolling hills, wintering approx.:
135 MA Angus Stud cows
220 MA Angus Commercial cows
550 R1/R2 heifers/steers
50 R1 Angus Stud bulls
250 Wiltshire sheep
The main responsibilities include:
Stock work –including yard work.
Machinery operation - operating and maintaining tractors, including cultivation and feeding out.
General farm maintenance including maintaining water systems, weed control, building and repairing fences (permanent and electric), and general upkeep of race systems.
Health & Safety: Adhering to safety protocols.
This is a full time position.
The ideal candidate will have:
A positive attitude and strong work ethic
3 years experience
2 working dogs
Good stock sense and confidence working with both cattle and sheep
Physical fitness
Confidence operating modern quads, tractors and machinery
Ability to work both independently and within a small team
Strong listening and problem-solving skills
Pride in their work and presentation
A clean New Zealand Driver’s Licence
Must be a NZ citizen or hold NZ Residency.
