Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced and motivated Block Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a large area that requires someone with some aspiration. The Block Manager will be responsible for managing livestock, pasture, and resources to ensure optimal productivity and animal welfare, with a specific focus on sheep and beef breeding and finishing.
This role offers a pathway to become an up-and-coming farm manager with large-scale experience.
Direct report will be to the GM and integrating with other block managers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the health and welfare of sheep, cattle.
- Implement pasture management strategies to maximize forage quality and feeding.
- Oversee breeding programs and animal husbandry practices.
- Monitor and manage resources, equipment, and infrastructure within the block.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Coordinate with other farm managers and staff to achieve overall station goals.
- Maintain detailed records of livestock, pasture, and resource management.
- Foster a strong culture of teamwork and collaboration within the station.
- Utilize modern farming techniques and data collection methods to enhance productivity and decision-making.
- Be a strong leader and role model, guiding and inspiring the team.
- Ensure tidiness and presentation is always paramount.
- Aspire to lean management practices to enhance efficiency.

- Production targets.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in livestock or farm management, particularly with sheep and beef.
- Strong understanding of animal husbandry and pasture management.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and lead a team.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations.
- Commitment to fostering a positive team culture and collaborative working environment.
- Experience with modern farming techniques and data collection methods.
- Proven leadership skills and the ability to be a positive role model.
