Job Description
Wai-iti Lands is a 870ha effective family operated sheep and beef property in the Alfredton community. Currently we winter 5,000 mixed age ewes, 1500 hoggets and 250 breeding cows. Most lambs are sold store over summer, all weaners sold on farm.
We are looking for someone who has several years sheep and beef farming experience, a team of working dogs, experience in fencing, mustering and motorbike. You will need to be capable of working within a team, yet able to work unsupervised. If you are hardworking and have a desire to grow your skills alongside the owners then this is a great opportunity. We support ongoing learning on the job, and outside the farm gate.
As part of a competitive renumeration package we offer a warm and tidy three bedroom home, recreational deer hunting on the farm, and ensure a work-life balance for our team. We are located 10 minutes from Alfredton, 30 minutes to Pahiatua and 50 minutes to Masterton. Alfredton has a strong community vibe with a local primary school (to Year 8), playgroup, dog trial club and annual horse sports. The primary school bus comes to the front gate.
