Job Description
Te Puni Partnership is a family-owned sheep and beef farming business operating across three properties in the Mackenzie District, just 20 minutes from Fairlie. Our farming operation spans a mix of hill country, rolling land and a flat finishing block, running approximately 13,000 stock units made up of crossbred and Corriedale ewes and Angus cattle, with a strong focus on lamb and cattle finishing.
We're looking for an experienced shepherd with a passion for stock work and general farm duties to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to further develop their skills, take on responsibility and grow within a progressive farming business.
The role includes:
- A large proportion of stock work, tractor work during busy periods and a strong focus on the wintering programme.
- A variety of farm work including mustering, fencing and general farm maintenance.
- Working both independently and alongside the wider farm team.
- Being involved in planning, problem solving and day-to-day decision making.
The ideal applicant will:
- Be enthusiastic with a positive, can-do attitude.
- Have a genuine passion for livestock performance.
- Be keen to learn, develop their skills and continue growing within the industry.
- Be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Have a team of 3–5 well-trained working dogs.
- Hold a current full New Zealand driver's licence.
