1800ha sheep/beef breeding hill and high country property of 7000su. 50 mins from Chch, 20km inland from Amberley. Job starts Sep 21st onwards part way through lambing.
Do you have ambition but can also thrive in a collaborative family environment? We're looking for a motivated shepherd with a passion for stock work, who is keen to excel and become the Stock Manager within 1-2 years. Onepunga is an attractive property, in a great location for a young family, being close to town.
Tasks:
Stockwork, tractor driving, fencing, gorse spraying and record-keeping. You would be responsible for the farm, in owner's absence, a few days a week.
The ideal applicant will:
. Be able to work under supervision and work independently
. Have a level head and an encouraging nature for our younger family staff member
. Have or be growing a team of good dogs
. Have a minimum two years’ experience with quality references
. Have a tertiary agri qualification
. Have experience with or be open to using digital apps for farm tasks & record-keeping
. Have a polite and courteous personality
